Players take turns placing stones on a 9x9 board. Surround an enemy group so it has no liberties and you capture it. The first to capture wins. That much is plain Capture Go (Atari Go), a small version of Baduk (Go). What makes this board different is that you choose one extra rule for the day and lay it on top.

Three of the 4 candidate rules are drawn for the day. You ban one and pick one. Everyone gets the same three on the same day, so what you ban and what you pick is where the skill is.

No account, no loot boxes. Judging and your record are always free.

How this board works

Territory is not counted. Instead of the area counting of full Go, the first to capture an enemy stone wins. That keeps a game short and the result clear. To be honest about it, this is Capture Go, not full Go.

There is no randomness. The candidates are set by the date, and the opponent always plays the same moves on the same board. A lost game is not bad luck but the wrong order of moves, so memorizing the board makes you better.

A rule never kills the board. Whatever rule is on top, you should never run out of places to play or get the board locked. We measured this with balance simulations and left out the rules that did not hold up.

We do not count streaks. Nothing is said about the days you did not come.
